Page 99 Test {A Summer Lovin' Read-a-thon Challenge Post}

Today's Summer Lovin' Read-a-thon Challenge Post is brought to us by Meagan at Reviewing Wonderland!

What is the Page 99 Test, you ask? Pick a book that you have not read, turn to page 99. Read the page. Once you've done that, give a synopsis of that page and tell us - based only on that page - if you want to read the book. Easy peasy, right?

Things to remember - no spoilers and no plagiarism.

Let's do this thing! Read it... did it contain any good teasers? Does it make you want to read it now? Next? Never? Let me know!

My Test

I went the shelf at work and pulled off a book I'm not sure I even want to read. Now, however...

In Darkness
In Darkness by Nick Lake

I turned to page 99 and it was obvious there was a sick or injured man, perhaps dying. It seemed there was little to no hope for him to make a full recovery. He then is killed, not by a gun, but my a machete, because bullets cost money.

It's a dark and gritty part of the story and I can definitely see myself reading this.

What's your page 99 test results?

Smiles,
B
