So... how do you participate? It's simple ~

1) Share a quote that has captured your interest lately in a Memorable Monday post on your blog.

2) Come back here and leave the link to your post in the comment box below. If you don't have a blog, I'd still love to hear read your quote. Leave it in the comment box instead of a link to a non-existent blog. :)

3) Visit other participants if you have time. It's always nice to have visitors. There's no overstaying your welcome this way, and they don't have to offer the obligatory drinks. Or clean.

4) If you tweet your posts, feel free to use the hashtag #MemorableMonday.

This week's choice(s):

"The rain to the wind said,
you push and I'll pelt.
They so smote the flower bed
that the flowers actually knelt.
They lay lodged,
though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt."

One of my all time favorites.

There are so many quotable parts from Fangirl. I could do at least half a year's worth of Memorable Monday's with it. ;) It's such a great read. I miss these people... I want to go to Pound Hall and visit them all. Yes, I realize that's not a real place (I assume not, at least), but that doesn't stop me from wanting to go visit Cath, Reagan, Levi, and Wren.

I know, I know. I've been on this book for what seems like forever. And maybe it's partly because I've read it before, but mostly it's because I'm so freaking busy this month that when I do have free time to read I'd rather just veg out. But I do love this entire story, so I will continue to read it. :)  My goal is to finish the series before the start of the new year. We'll see how that works out. lol

~The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins

I couldn't decide what to read next after I finished The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen. So I decided to go back to an old favorite. Plus, with the holidays, it's sometimes harder to find that time to read. So a re-read is perfect for me. Anyway. I love this quote (along with a gazillion others). It shows that they already have the courage to show how much they disagree, even if in the smallest of ways.

"Everything had started in such sharp detail, each aspect pronounced and clear. Obviously, endings were different. Harder to see, full of shapes that could be one thing or another, with all the things that you were once so sure of suddenly not familiar, if they were even recognizable at all."

~Sarah Dessen, The Moon and More

Sarah Dessen is so quotable. ;) I love this one. It definitely speaks the truth. Things get so muddled at the endings of things, especially if the ending is bad. The clarity is lost, nothing will ever be or feel the same.

It will erase every trace of our existence on this earth and it will do all this work for free. It will ask for nothing in return. it will take a bow at our funeral and accept the accolades for a job well done and then it will disappear.

Living is a little more complex. There's always one thing we have to do.
